General

How does TRIPNNEST actually plan a trip?

You share your destination, dates and what you're after through the contact form. A regional trip designer drafts a day-by-day itinerary with real camp and hotel names, you go back and forth on it, and once it's locked we handle the bookings directly with each property.

Do you charge a planning fee?

For trips of four nights or more, planning is included in the rates we pass through from our partner camps and hotels — you're not paying more than booking direct. Shorter or highly custom trips carry a modest design fee, which we'll always confirm before you commit to anything.

Who will plan my trip?

A regional trip designer drafts your itinerary, so the person planning your trip knows the region. You can go back and forth with them until the plan feels right.

How quickly will I hear back?

A real person on the team replies within a day. Send your enquiry through the Contact page.

I don't have a destination yet. Where should I start?

Browse the destinations page or read a few stories on the travel blog to see what appeals, then tell us what you liked.

Booking

How far in advance should I book?

For popular conservancies, island resorts and anything tied to a specific season (migration, balloon season, aurora season), 4–9 months ahead gives you the best pick of camps. Shoulder-season city breaks can often be booked 4–6 weeks out.

What's included once I confirm a trip?

Accommodation, the activities and transfers listed in your itinerary, and a single point of contact for the length of the trip. International flights are generally not included unless specifically requested, since it's usually cheaper for you to book those directly.

Can I change my itinerary after booking?

Yes, up until the change-fee windows set by individual properties, which vary and are always noted in your booking confirmation. Your trip designer will flag anything time-sensitive before you sign off.

Can you book my international flights?

Flights are generally not included unless you specifically ask for them, since it's usually cheaper to book those directly. If you would like us to include them, say so in your enquiry.

Who do I contact once I'm travelling?

You get a single point of contact for the length of the trip, so you never have to work out who to call.

Cancellations

What's your cancellation policy?

TRIPNNEST doesn't add its own cancellation fee on top of what properties charge. Each camp or hotel sets its own policy — typically full refund 60+ days out, partial refund 30–60 days, and non-refundable inside 30 days — and these are itemised in your confirmation before you pay a deposit.

Do you recommend travel insurance?

Yes, for any trip involving deposits, remote locations, or activities like trekking and diving. We're happy to point you toward providers that specifically cover trip cancellation and medical evacuation, though we don't sell insurance ourselves.

What happens if a property cancels on their end?

It's rare, but if it happens we rebook you into a comparable property at no extra cost, or refund that portion in full if no suitable alternative exists for your dates.

Payments

How do payments work?

Most trips require a deposit (typically 25–30%) to hold your dates, with the balance due 60–45 days before departure. We accept card and bank transfer, and everything is itemised by property so you always know exactly what you're paying for.

Is my payment protected?

Deposits are held with each individual property under their own terms, which we share with you before you pay anything. For larger, multi-property trips we can also walk you through paying in stages tied to milestones rather than all at once.

Which payment methods do you accept?

We accept card and bank transfer. Everything is itemised by property, so you can see exactly what each payment covers.

Our guides

Are the travel guides free to read?

Yes. TRIPNNEST began with free guides, and they are still the heart of the site. Browse them on the travel blog.

Does anyone pay to be featured?

No. We don't take payment to feature a destination, camp or hotel, and we don't run affiliate content dressed up as a recommendation.

Has your team really been to every place you write about?

That's our one rule: nothing goes on the site until someone from the team has actually been.

A guide looks out of date. What should I do?

Please tell us through the Contact page. Opening times, permits and prices change, and reader notes help us fix them.
